Has anyone gone through a Gluten Free Audit with BRC or another organization?

Hello,

Has anyone gone through a Gluten Free Audit with BRC or another organization? I am creating our Gluten Free program and we are already BRC Certified. I was wondering if anyone who has gone through this and  has any thoughts or advice to share on it.

Also, does anyone have any Gluten Free resources for production facilities to help prepare? I find a lot of restaurant resources but surprisingly less on production and manufacturing itself.

Thank you!

The Canadian based Gluten-Free Certification Program was sold out to BRC

details here: https://www.brcgs.co...cation-program/

They have the resources available to help you or you can engage the services of a GF consultant, we were approved by the GFCP several years ago, however we are not currently serving Canada.

We use GFCO, and we have an annual audit with them. Since I work for a sausage manufacturer, and we have no wheat in the plant, our audits are usually very easy. I attached a link with more details about their certification- they do have an option for International standards. Hopefully this helps?

BRC does publish a checklist that might be helpful - if you scroll about halfway down this page you'll see a Guidance Documents section with one link that will download a word doc called Gluten Free Issue 3, Self Assessment Tool & Auditor Checklist v2.

More generally - many but not all of our clients hold third party certifications relating to their gluten-free products. Getting certified definitely takes some doing up front! Still, it's pretty rare that we hear from a customer letting their certification lapse. To me, that says that they are finding value in the programs. Happy to chat in more detail about the gluten testing portion of the guidance doc if you'd like.
