Requirements for recirculated treated water in paperboard packaging

Hello, I hope there´s someone who can shed some light on this. We will be running a paperboard plant in USA in the short-medium term. We´ll use safe drinkable water in our process, mainly for preparation of starch adhesive. After being treated in our treatment plant, we´ll reuse and recirculate part of this "clean" water for the same purpose. What, in your opinion, should be the requirements or controls to do (if any) to this treated water? Thank you in advance

The BRC Packaging requires process water must be potable or suitably treated.

Since you are going to use available drinkable water, it will be fine if you can prove that your treated water is also drinkable.

Otherwise, setting up own criteria of "suitable treatment" might lead to a bit complication, IMO.

I doubt that treated water is drinkable. I guess I will have to set up softer criteria

IM(Food)EX, recirculated water even for non-product related functions can be an (explanatory) "minefield".
