No it is not, that is an action that stems from your corrective action, but doesn't actually fix the problem....make sense?

 

Hmmm an example

 

The level of chlorine in the washwater was too low..........you opted to discard the product............but you haven't addressed the WHY the chlorine level was too low and how you'll fix that........corrective actions need to address the ISSUE not the product.

No, it is a correction.

 

A corrective action will aim to resolve the root cause with aim of not repeating, typically by using an approach like 5 Whys. Why would you dispose the product? Why was the parameter out of bounds? Why was the treatment insufficient. etc.
