Hello, I am evaluating the impact of moving to SQF Level 3. For the packaging inspection at receiving do we need to inspect each receiving according to a sampling plan and evaluate all quality aspect or we can inspect the packaging based on quality risk assessment ? That means we will randomly sample from each packaging supplier and evaluate the quality aspect.  I have another question for customer complaints. Do we need to investigate all quality complaint or we can investigate the complaints according to trend analysis and base on quality risk assessment? Thank you

Hi Sophie,

Yr purchasing activity should involve a Packaging Specification.

Yr QA function should involve a sampling/analysis function unless, for example, you choose to work only with COAs.

Yr sampling/analysis (S/A) function if implemented should relate to the Specification and ideally be risk-based although in practice S/A is often initially somewhat ad hoc.
