Food grade cleaning of stickers glue residue

Hi all, in our packaging facility we have a few lines which are very sensitive to glue residue from (lost) stickers. It gets stick on the brushes and on the production lines. They currently use some heavy duty cleaning materials that I am not too happy with. Does any of you have a food grade alternative that cleans glue residue well?

If you can get the brand name simple green, look for the gunk remover - organic and not made with harse chemicals.

If the stickers are basic pressure sensitive adhesives, they are likely rubber based, which means vegetable oils should work for removal.

Have you tried a steam cleaner? What’s that yellow Italian brand? They make real nice but inexpensive steam cleaning equipment

Hi all,

Thanks for your replies.
I have been looking for gunk remover but it is not widely available in the NL.
We do clean the lines at the end of the day. But we do not have the time (we would rather not spend the time) to steam clean when there is a bit of glue residu on the line during production.

We are also looking into changing the type of glue used.
Hopefully we will find something that works!

We use a NSF D2 such as Alpet D2 by Best Sanitizers. Works, but may need a little persuasion on non-stainless surfaces.

In case anyone is interrested.
We ended up lowering the strenght of glue on our stickers (so less harsch residu on our lines) and we tested some food grade sticker removers. We found one we liked (off course not as good as the non-foodgrade stuff, but we gave them no choice).

Thanks for al the suggestions!
