SQF 2.3.1 Product Development and Realization
Hello, I am looking for an example/policy for Product Development and Realization. We are a chocolate company/confection manufacturing and we no not do testing on our own products. We are currently SQF level 2. How can i create a policy for this, if needed?
if you are creating new product(s), you need ot have this.
it will help to ensure that all pertitent areas of quality and food safety are covered prior to going to market. as far as testing goes, it could be as simple as organoleptic (im guessing that someone is at least tasting product to make sure it is correct). whatever testing that needs to be done to ensure it meets specification / is safe should be done.
while I don't think sqf requires it, ongoing shelf life testing is a good thing to do.
