Saying Hello and Why I'm Here

Hello! I’m a Quality Assurance Manager with experience in Pet food manufacturing and my areas of expertise are in raw ingredient quality assurance (animal origins), environmental monitoring programs, and post-kill (AKA post extrusion) applied ingredients like Digests. I joined the IFSQN community because of my desire to contribute to food safety by answering questions about what I know and hopefully getting feedback about my solution to a specific problem. It was during a review to update our food safety plans did I realize there has to be an easier way. Most HACCP/Food Safety plans are in excel spreadsheets. While excel is a great tool for data, it makes managing a text-heavy document like the food safety plan more difficult than it needs to be. Especially during cross-functional or team reviews. I created a software for food safety Plans :happydance:. Looking for your feedback. Do you think a platform that makes the process of editing, reviewing, & developing your existing HACCP/Food safety plans is a good idea? What are some of your wish lists :sorcerer:? Your thoughts would be invaluable, Lola

It’s awesome you’ve been able to utilize SharePoint. It is a versatile tool that can house tons of documents for different departments. It’s helpful to know we as food safety professionals are interested in tools that help us to organize and track our documents.
Some might like to explore new technologies that potentially improve food safety. We are screening for our first 25 candidates to access and use the Food Safety/HACCP plan application.  Feel free to message me here and I’d be glad to share more information.

Thanks for your feedback Chris

Thanks Charles, this is exactly what I'm looking for. Do you happen to have a link to information on how I can create my own sponsored forum?

I meant the software language

Ah, i see. Mind if I ask a few clarifying questions?

When you ask about the software language, are you thinking of how/if the application could integrate with your organization's existing systems like SharePoint? Or more so, if the application is something one could download to user's desktop? If you could provide more context around your question, that would be appreciated.

Honestly is more curiosity. I write programs as an hobby, mostly in python and java.

Honesty is always welcomed in my book:)

Language is NodeJS using Mongo database. We use java to run a few actions and Python to build our sample size calculator geared specifically for the food manufacturing industry. Most sample size calculators are for employee survey stuff.
