Keto, Vegan and Paleo label claims without supporting documentation

Hello everyone, I have a question, working on a skinny pasta sauce where there is no added sugar, instead we use stevia. Our customer is asking if he can put a Keto Diet, Vegan symbol and Paleo diet symbol on the PDP. Is he allowed to do this if he has no supporting documentation back up his Keto, Vegan and Paleo claims? Thank you in advance for anyone's help.

Nope

All statements on food packaging must be truthful and not misleading

This example is neither of these things

Beside, the term Keto and Paleo speaking to a lifestyle, not a method so it would have to say something like Keto/Paleo friendly   Vegan is both  (MADE without animals/animal byproducts)

Your customer wants to put something on your product that still has your labeling and branding?

Uhh, no. Not a chance.

Vegan can be verified, Keto/Paleo are a type of diet and ..oh it looks like scampi beat me to it! But yeah, you'd have to say 'friendly' or something similar. What can keep me in ketosis is not always what can keep someone else in ketosis.

And once again, don't let them put any claims on your product. If they want to put it on the shelf near it, that's their call.

Interestingly enough we work with helping companies with targeted ingredients for the various keto, paleo, vegan etc certs.

Generic is fine but be careful to not use the same style of font and round symbols as the certs as that in itself could get you labeling flagged.

You must have supporting documentation that your food/ingredients meet the definition of these different lifestyle programs.

Just like saying your product is gluten free and just like SQF where it says... say what you do, do what you say and prove it.

There is just so you know very tight communities of keto, paleo and vegan people and they will turn on you in an instant if your produxt plays them.

For us we went Keto a couple of years ago and dropped 75 pounds, this morning I'm having a keto breakfast of eggs fried in butter, whole avocado, some salsa, small juice due to carbs, salsa, and coffee with monfruit, cream and mct powder.

Why stevia... trend is moving to monkfruit. ?

if the pasta contains no animal or animal by product (pasta usually contains eggs)  then you can register with the vegan society to use the trademark symbol.

There are now certifications for Keto and Paleo, one of our customers had us fill out an insane questionnaire related to these certifications.  They have a bunch of requirements that take time to wade through, this questionnaire was one of the worst ones we've had to complete.

Using claims like "______ Friendly" may be the way to go, but there are still risks associated with that, for example Prop 65.

Thank you everyone for all your help.

truly appreciated.
