Hi, we are doing leak test for our packaging material. Wondering is there any specific chemical or solution used for leak test? Or any solution is acceptable as long as it is colored liquid?

Hello,

The cheapest and best is Flawtek, there are 3 aerosol cans so the test must be completed outside or a very well ventilated area. You can pick them up for around £7 per can.

Maybe, depends on packaging material.  With gable top cartons, layered paperboard and PE, there were two specific dyes we used.  One I think was called methyl blue and the other red dye #5.  We got the dye supplies from our packaging suppliers, Elopak and Evergreen (International Paper).

The most cost effective that I have used are standard food colors, such as those used for dying Easter eggs.
