Hi all, good day! Would like to clarify on something. If we are FSSC certified manufacturing company, is it compulsory to have a written procedure on food fraud and food defense? Requirement Quote : 2.5.3  Food Defense The organization shall have a documented procedure in place to: a) Conduct a threat assessment to identify and assess potential threats; b) Develop and implement mitigation measures for significant threats. 2.5.4 Food Fraud Mitigation. The organization shall have a documented procedure in place to: a) Conduct a food fraud vulnerability assessment to identify and assess potential vulnerabilities; b) Develop and implement mitigation measures for significant vulnerabilities. Thank you!

Yes, it is mandatory to have Food Defense procedure. Also it is mandatory to have Food fraud procedure, however you can merge this procedure with purchase / supplier audit procedure (as this is applicable to supply chain).

Also it is necessary to have assessments in both the cases. Food Defense - TACCP and Food Fraud - VACCP

Thank you for your explanation and reply Venkatesh. That's really helpful.
