Is anybody aware of any WRITTEN standards for construction of new food factory in UK?.

BRC standard I have (very vague) and I know retailers also have guidelines, but is there anything else in the public domain?.

There appear to be a plethora of factory design consultants on the internet so guessing the answer is probably not?....

Yes, your local building code/requirements

When it comes to sanitary design, that's another kettle of fish altogether

google that and you'll find scores of real information, not consultants looking to line their pockets

Just a few to start

The GFSI guidelines mention vague things to keep in mind, but are no means an exhaustive or comprehensive tool

The Codex has some info, but not sure if anymore helpful than BRC.

I'd stick with designing something which allows a decent flow of Raw materials to finished goods. Think about Pest proofing, water flows - ensure no backflows etc. Also think about any room for future growth etc. Think about allergen management - do you want areas where you can free from etc.

Good Luck!
