Hello Everyone,

In a given beverage sample (liquid/powder), there are presence of both yeast and bacteria (lactic acid or aciduric).

So, how can i enumerate the BACTERIA ONLY in a solid culture media but suppress/inhibit the yeast growth?

Can anyone suggest some solution for this issue?

Appreciate all the feedback.

Thank you,

Kumar

Hello Kumar,

Lactic bacteria can be cultured using acidified MRS media. Look under FDA BAM methods and you will find the procedure and the composition for the media.

Thanks,

Juan

Hi Juan,

Thank you for the input.

But yeast would still grow in the media.

Any ways to suppress it growth?

Kumar
