Help with sensitizer labeling

Hello,

My company ( a food manufacturer) is looking at purchasing a powder raw material. The manufacturer ingredient statement reads: "maltodextrin, natural flavors, and silicon dioxide"

in the ingredient specifications it states corn as a sensitizer- meaning the maltodextrin was made from corn. My question is do we need to include any labeling that clarifies that our finished product contains corn? Our finished product is for USA market only.

Any information is appreciated

No. You can just say maltodextrin.

You may need to declare you product contains a BE ingredient depending on the source of the corn.

No you do not, the corn is so highly processed, that it turned into malodextrin

You may, however, need to address your added sugars to meet the new nutritional labelling requirements for added sugar
