Requirements for in-house cleaning of rain pants

I work in a plant that makes surimi based products.
We are looking into rain pants for employees to wear during clean up.

One of our Sr. Managers is concerned about cleaning them.

We do have a washer and dryer that we use for gloves.

Production staff wears smocks which are sent to a laundry service.

Would spraying rain pants with sanitizer at the end of use, then running them thru the washer weekly (or daily) be sufficent?

Yes, your plan is a sound one

The don't even really need to go in a machine (IMO)---once the machine is clean, nothing should be touching it, including the employees, rinse and sanitizer should be done without touching

The can be scrubbed manually (while on) rinsed and then sanitized prior to hanging up at end of the week

Buy the heaviest ones you can afford, they will last longer and keep your sanitation team drier

Hi Frankie,

"Sufficiency"  may relate to where on Earth you are, whom you are intending to be compliant to, if product is RTE, etc
