We are looking at introducing a new packaging product that may have use where it is more than incidental food contact. There may be an intentional use where the packaging may get placed into the mouth of a consumer- such as a straw, cutlery, or plastic pop bottle would for dispensing of the food content. I need to know if anything more is required outside of regular SQF Packaging certification?-

Are there other FDA guidelines required?- At present our packaging products are not required to be registered with FDA.

need some guidance as to any FDA or Legal requirements for such products.

For example: To be used where human contact, is it required to be A-septic?
