Thank you so much Olenazh. Our products are sold in the U.S. as well. Are there any organic requirements we need to meet according to the FDA?

That I don't know, sorry. Let's wait for some other replies.

The organic certifications are cross border friendly and should meet both sets of standards, but the very best people to reach out to is the company that would be granting your organic status

If all of your suppliers have American equivalency, then I believe it should be easy for you to obtain as well.

From the American side of things, we had Canadian equivalency for a long time because all of our raw material suppliers had Canadian equivalency and we were able to apply that to our products.  When one of our suppliers dropped their Canadian equivalency on a key raw material, we ended up dropping our equivalency.  I think there were extra steps we could have done to circumvent our supplier not having equivalency, but for us it wasn't worth the extra work.  None of our customers making organic-certified purchases are in Canada.

First step is understand the scope of the organic certification you need.  Keep in mind there are different levels of organic certification such as "100% Organic", "Organic", "Made with Organic Ingredients" and all have different specific requirements.  Then you need to know how many products will be considered for organic certification.

From this, you should go to a few different certifiers and obtain quotes for the certification process.  Many of them are contracted, such as NSF is contract for QAI.  Once the certification body is determined and you have the contract in place you can leverage your account representative to help you through the process.
