Temperature of the interior of the truck at receiving

Hi

Now the code requires to take temp of the interior of the delivering truck and do not accept temperatures of the products in the incoming load. Most transportation trucks have side doors (no roll up door), once the driver opens the door before dock, the interior temperature of the truck will lose acceptable delivering temperature limits, plus considering season weather conditions. Advice best practice and devices to proceed with air temperature beside the IR thermometer. Thanks

Hi Manuel,

What Code are you referring to ?

Pardon for delay to answer. My email was not posting my replies.

11.6.5.7 On arrival, prior to opening the doors, the food transport vehicle's refrigeration unit's storage temperature settings and operating temperature shall be checked and recorded. Unloading shall be completed efficiently, and product temperatures shall be recorded at the commencement of unloading and at regular intervals during unloading.

what is the procedure to take air temperature? is it accurete?

Thanks

Manuel

Measuring the temperature of the truck is always tricky - and therefore it is preferable to measure the temperature of the product before/at unloading.
