SQF Certification supplier requirements

If a company is trying to gain SQF certification for its bottling facility what would be the requirements from an SQF perspective for its incoming product if the company also owned the facility making the product but was not seeking SQF certification for that site ?

You would have to do a risk assessment on the vendor(s) as part of an Approved Supplier Program to determine whether or not to use that vendor

without a GFSI is becomes a bit trickier

 

Do they test each lot?  Can you get a CoA or CoC for each lot?  What has their past performance been like

Do they have a traceability program in place

 

Those sorts of things

SQF or gfsi level certification  is very strong 3rd party audit.
