SQF 12.6.2.1 - cold storage
I am the SQF practitioner at my company and we are a cold storage facility we don't package any product or open anything and I've been going through the SQF code and I think I have most of it figured out but I can not seem to find any information on whether or not I need a whole policy for how we check temps while in storage or if the shipping and receiving checklists are ok along with the shipping and receiving policy. If someone could help that would be great
thanks in advance
Hi, welcome to the forum. I'm not with SQF (FSSC22000), but as far as I know you need to have a system for temperature monitoring to ensure there's no deviations and products in your coolers/freezers are not under jeopardy and compliant to the specifications (e.g. keep refrigerated, keep frozen, etc.)

Hi jBrott,
Probably Yes.
See the various examples/discussion in this thread (little bit old but things probably not changed all that much) -

(there are a few other related threads also on the Forum)
Code number eludes me right now as it has been a long day.
Thank you every one I appreciate it
Temperature monitoring system with records. Devices that provide some type of alarm if they go above threshold are ideal. These days you can get them relatively cheap from Amazon so long as you have wifi accessible then they are easy to setup.
You can review the data on a regular basis and also export it to excel in many cases.
