In order to maintain trust and confidence in GFSI-recognised certification programs and preserve the integrity of GFSI recognition, the GFSI Steering Committee has suspended IFS for a three-month period beginning on 8th December 2022

At this time, all certificates that have been issued prior to December 8th are still recognized by GFSI. But what does the suspension mean for you?

GFSI does not explain the reason for the suspension in its publication of the suspension decision. GFSI has published a list of questions and answers (FAQ). This explains the consequences of the suspension and what actions affected companies should take:

Is your company IFS-certified and does not need to be audited during the suspension period? Then no action is required.

Should IFS regain its GFSI recognition after 8 March, certificates issued based on audits carried out between 8 December and 8 March will remain non-GFSI-recognized.
