Costco Unannounced audit - 2023
Hello,
From this year costco audits are unannounced. I find it a bit expensive since it cannot be combined with the SQF/BRCGS. My auditing firm told an extra 2000 CAD for Costco audits.
What does everyone think about the new change from costco?
That isn't your problem, is it?
If Costco wants their supplier to be certified to a standard beyond a regular GFSI-certification, they should be the one paying for it.
I would be talking to my sales people to make sure the cost of an annual Costco audit is included in their calculated contract prices based on a realistic sales forecast, so what they are paying you will cover the cost of this pricey audit.
Just price it in to whatever you're selling them. That's what we do. We have customers that make all kinds of demands that cost us money, and we go ahead and do what they want, but they are paying for it, whether they know it or not.
We are a Costco supplier SQF certified, we did not even have an addendum this year--it was rolled into the regular audit, nor did the auditor say it would be different moving forward
Here is another recent thread on this with greater detail. Several changes in the new Costco Expectations that kick in April 1.
As i stated on the thread that KTD has linked to, this is NOT a NEW requirement, it was in previous versions of the Costco code
