BRCGS Food Safety - New Clause 1.1.14 Registration of food production sites
Hello! In the new issue of the BRC, clause 1.1.14 discusses legal requirements to register premises as food production sites and the need to provide documentary proof that the site has been registered. Would anyone be able to elaborate on what this clause entails and provide some specific examples?
Your help would be much appreciated, thanks!
Greetings Audrey,
I can't tell for sure about other countries outside EU, but here in Greece the Operation License issued by State Authorities to the food production company already covers this. Here you have to mention what the facilities will be used for, including the specific NACE codes that will be taking place inside, because through this we also get the Environmental Impact Assessment that each company has to abide by in order to minimize possible pollution issues. This is acceptable in BRC.
Could it be something like that?
Regards!
If you are selling into the United States, you must specifically register your facility with US FDA. You must also designate a US agent who is available 24 hours a day. There are companies who will do this for you, for a fee, or it could be done by someone else, such as your customer if you make an agreement with them.
