I noticed on the ISO web site that ISO 22000 is now at stage 40.20 "DIS ballot initiated: 5 months."

http://www.iso.ch/is...getable.html#40

This basically means the working group is reviewing the Draft International Standard (DIS) and providing comments. I emailed John Surak to see if there was any more information to be had:

SaferPak
"Does this mean that there will be a 5 months allowed for comments before hopefully FDIS? Also do you know whether the DIS is available in the public domain? If so, would you know where I can get hold of a copy?"

John Surak
"The answer to the first question is yes. The way we are requesting comments on the DIS in the US is that a comment phase will close on 31 August. This will allow us to gather and collate the comments, then decide whether a USTAG meeting is necessary, and then draft the US response.

The answer to the second question is no. At the present time the distribution of the DIS is limited to TAG activities. I will be attending a Working Group meeting in Copenhagen at the end of the month. We will probably have some discussion on the publicity we want."

So there it is, things are moving along, but still no copy of the Standard for us to review. Let's hope they decide to release the DIS at the Copenhagen meeting.

All for now.

Regards,
Simon

I don't know why DIS in not available as public release. That is not a good way for preparing a new standard, I think.

I got a paper copy of DIS(N70) last week (from Ireland.../ I'm in Japan).
There are a few changes in Introduction and Annex against N69.
I'm now reviewing main requirements, but I can find no changes against N69.

I heard that Japanese national comittee has bigun to prepare Japanese tranlation of DIS.
Within a couple of months, Japanese translasion(with English version) will be published.

Heaven forbid they should allow the general public, users and customers to see the draft standard.

I got a paper copy of DIS (N70)  last week (from Ireland.../ I'm in Japan).

Well you know my email address.

Sorry, but N70 is the CD, isn´t it?

I´m looking for DIS too. :P

Peaceout
> Sorry, but N70 is the CD, isn´t it?

I have just telephoned a member of JP comittee member, and he said "N70 is almost same as DIS. The difference is only? Annex."
I don't know the difference between N70 and DIS exactlly.

Annex is now reviewed and it will be discussed next week (in Copenhaegen).
DIS is fixed, but Annex is not yet. I think it is a reason of DIS not published.
ISO22000 has already become in a stage of "voting to DIS" on 2 or 3 June.
After Annex is fixed, DIS will be published soon.

Now I'm preparing a textbook for food safety management sysytem.
I can provide a correspondens between ISO9001 and DIS22000 in a few weeks, after DIS will be published.
You can buy a copy of DIS22000 at JSA ( Japanese Standards Assosiation) .
http://www.jsa.or.jp...ult_english.asp

The price is 5,860yen (about 55$). Please try to get DIS.
I am worried about whether that DIS is N70.
Tried hard. Unable to find out the DIS 22000 in the website
Franco,

I'm sorry. JSA provide only a paper copy of DIS(English version).
JSA accept by fax or e-mail request for DIS22000. Web store is not available for DIS.
Please contact sitemaster@jsa.or.jp

It will be nessesary about 50$ and shipping charge.
So, I reccomend you contact to BSI or ASQ or other standards provider.

Within a few days, my friend will buy a copy of DIS, and I can report detail of DIS here.

Regards.

I confirmed N70 has released as DIS for voting.
I compared N69 and N70, except Annex, there is no difference of both draft.

N74 was released now, and TC is discussing about Annex or Appendix from Monday in Copenhargen.

I will provide with contents of DIS to extent of permissible.
Ask me, please

Excellent! I am in the middle of reading through N69 and I look forward to discussing it with you soon...

Cheers,
Simon
NOTE:
We cannot upload ISO 22000 DIS to the forums for open member download. However, I am sure if you contact one of the members of the forums who are talking about the standard they would be more than happy to send you a copy.

Porky and Sameer,

I have! And JSA(Japan) webstore starts selling DIS22000.
If you are in Japan, please contact to JSA: www.jsa.or.jp.
I can not give you DIS, because of copyrights.
I am considering how to send requirements to you.
Simon,

Any latest event on ISO 22K lately especially on N70?

Charles Chew
I like the 22k, it gives HACCP the much needed business perspective, you cant make safe food if your not in business!!!!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'm still on N69 and I have no new news to report at present.

Regards,
Simon
N69 = CD3 was released on March 5th 2004.
N70 = CD4 was released on April 2nd. Requirements of N70 is same as N69.
DIS was released on June 2nd for voting. Requirements of DIS is same as N69 and N70.
There are some differences only in Annex A between N69 and N70 and DIS.

I have a copy of DIS22000 and Japanese translation.
JSA provides a booklet of DIS22000 with Japanese translation.
When ISO publishes DIS, French and Russian translations should be also published.
I think these translations are not yet in use...
I can give you more information of DIS in Japanese.
I am sorry, I am not so good at English.
O Haio! Isogava San,

Domo for the information on ISO 22K. Yes, I have a copy of the N69 version which I guess it is still good as you had mentioned that the difference is only in appendix A.

By the way, I have no problem understanding your English so please do not under estimate your ability in this language. I think it is very good.

Sayonara,
Charles Chew
