Template for preparing emergency preparedness assessment and drills procedure
Your Emergency Preparedness plan will be specific to your facility and the assessment specific to your drills. Our plan is actually a function of our safety program more than food safety. My assessment of a drill looks like this:
Was the announcement clear?
Could it be heard everywhere in the building?
Was the alarm sounder clear?
Could it be heard everywhere in the building?
Did the evacuation start immediately?
Did employees know where the “Safe Evacuation Meeting Area” is located?
Did all employees know how to locate the fastest exits?
Did All employees use the fastest exits?
Were persons with disabilities accounted for?
Were Visitors properly directed and accounted for?
Were Supervisors and responsible personnel aware of their duties and prepared?
Did all employees, visitors and / or persons with disabilities respond and report to the “Safe Evacuation Meeting Area”?
Was attendance information available to identify employees who were absent or on vacation / personal leave?
These are all reviews of the specific elements of our Emergency Preparedness drill procedure.
I hope this helps you!
