USA FDA Requirements for Food Canning Establishments - Separate SID for Each Fat Version or Single ID for All 400ml Coconut Milk Products?

Hello everyone,

The coconut milk we produce falls under the category of Low-Acid Canned Foods, with an Equilibrium pH value greater than 4.6. Our specific query pertains to the FDA's Submission Identifier (SID) system. Should we assign a separate SID for each fat version of the 400ml coconut milk products, or would it be acceptable to have a single ID that covers all the variations?

I understand that the FDA's SID system is essential for registration and compliance purposes, but I'm unclear on the specific requirements regarding multiple variations of a single product. Can anyone shed some light on this matter or direct me to the relevant FDA guidelines?

Any insights or experiences related to FDA requirements for food canning establishments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your valuable input!

Your process authority needs to determine whether the products are similar enough that they can be grouped together into a single SID or must be registered separately, based on the critical parameters in your scheduled process(es). See section 113.83, establishing scheduled processes.
