Hi, currently we are planning for sending out sample for finished good lab test. I'm in bakery industry. Samples will be cake, and cheese tarts in carton (1ctn x 48pcs). How do you guys send your samples size? Do you guys face difficulties in sending large size of sample (eg.: 1 whole cake or 1 ctn of tart). Will it be okay if i send the tarts only in few pcs? Or cut the cake into small slices?

You can send it whole, in finished packaging and the lab will take what they need to sample

HOWEVER----you pulling composite samples across staggered times is probably in your best interest.  Then you could take the sample weight, say 50g of different cakes and/or tarts and request the lab sample them as a composite   OR   as individuals if you think you have a problem so you'd know at what time of the production run you're having a problem

Always best to contact the lab for specifics on sample size and shipping. Also, if you are testing for pathogens, you should hold the lot until results received.
