For as long as I can remember the post arrived like clockwork at 9.00 a.m. and again just before lunch. So they scrap the second post and everything goes to cock. Our post now arrives anywhere between 10.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. Yesterday it arrived at 6.30 p.m. It's scandalous…

Is it the same for everyone?

Friend of mine has a classic, she has a letterbo that is on its side, postman obviously doesn't like this way round so he puts the letters across the hole and stabs them through the middl. all of her letters end up with a big crease right down the middle!!

Then of course you have the posties who can't read, at around 4pm every one comes out of their houses and plays post swap just to get the right mail!

Yup, can't blame the posties though as when they dropped the second delivery, they cut staffing levels.

My posties are moaning their heads off.

But yes, the arrival of post is extremely erratic, and more seems to get lost than ever.

Ok then, they lose 14.4 million letters.

How many do they actually process?

That will give a starting ppm :D

Mind you, I bet some of the lost mail is the senders fault with dodgy addresses etc

I appreciate that this topic has been just about done to death but I wondered if anyone has tried to use one of the other postal options and has any comments (good or bad)

We've just had our 8th certificate this year go missing inside the UK (when TNT sent our parcel intended for Italy to Hong Kong they had the decency to ring us and tell us)

It's causing us a big problem and if there is a decent alternative I'd like to know

It also akes us wonder if some of the "the cheque was lost in the post" stories are actually true!
