SQF Code Edition 10 Proposed Timeline
Hi everyone,
Looks like we are likely to get an Edition 10 SQF Code in the first half of 2025 according to a recent published proposed timeline. See link below and graphic.

They really don't need to compete with the cell phone companies for regular version updates.

This looks like job security for the CBs and schemes.
By that time I may have edition 9 half way memorized.

I agree. I wonder, though, has SQF lost its best workers? This press statement reads more like it was either thrown together in a hurry or by interns. Full of 'may' and 'can' weasel words. It sounds like nothing's been done yet.
I love what "tadelong" just said - "Full of 'may' and 'can' weasel words. It sounds like nothing's been done yet."
...and that is because SQF along with all the other GFSI (and GFSI itself) know that there is a major shake up coming to their world - the under current started some years back but I suspect GFSI and most of the schemes will not make it through 2025 due to a number of factors involving the new world we are already entering.
Decided to look up when edition 10 might be out and they are allowing feedback now for Part A and Appendix 1 and 2 (FSC and Glossary). Feedback for all the codes will open on April 1st.

Your Sneak Peek into the Key Changes in SQF Edition 10
While Edition 10 includes many new features, here are some highlights shaping the new Code.
-
Strengthening Food Safety Culture:
We’re introducing a comprehensive Food Safety Culture Plan that sets clear objectives and performance measures. This plan is designed to instill a shared commitment to food safety—from leadership to frontline workers.
-
Enhancing Change Management:
Edition 10 now includes a dedicated Change Management clause. Organizations must document procedures for managing changes in equipment, processes, or personnel, effectively mitigating associated risks.
-
Streamlining Records and Documentation:
Recognizing the challenges of scattered record-keeping, we’ve consolidated documentation requirements into one clear section. This reorganization simplifies compliance and provides auditors with a more straightforward review process.
-
Emphasizing Critical Training and Assessments:
The updated code mandates rigorous assessments of critical training programs, ensuring that all personnel remain competent and fully capable of upholding the highest standards of food safety.
I...need more caffeine.
Is there a place we can see the current iteration of these code changes and additions? Is it just because I haven't signed in yet? Or is current feedback just on the idea of these changes?
Nevermind, I just couldn't get signed in until I made up a story for the password police.

There was ALOT of feedback, glad implementation has been delayed until April and NOT January
Thank you for the update, Tony.
My first audit window opens early January and I have been in panic mode for a bit as we are newly SQF certified and I haven't had to deal with a new edition yet. My second audit window will open in May, so I'm hoping I'll have the option to get some feedback during the first audit on what to expect for the second.
