Labelling af flavor in the US

Hallo,

 

Hope you can help me clarify if it is correctly understood that in the US you cannot label a flavor/aroma "flavor" in the ingredient list, you have to add either natural or artificial flavor to state the nature of the flavor?

Yes, you would call it 'artificial flavor'.

What if the flavor is natural, are you then allowed to write "flavor" instead of "natural flavor"?

Generally speaking if it is natural flavoring you have the option to use "flavor" or "natural flavor".   Only artificial flavoring must use the modifying adjective.
