Risk assessments

Hello all,

Looking for some help please

We are a very small HACCP certified lentil processing company that makes flour and split lentil. We are 3 people in total managing all milling, packing, maintenance, cleaning, QC, QA, dispatch duties. We are trying BRC certification. Our products are low risk.

As our factory is very small, we have a small area dedicated to milling and packing and a area at the back on the same flour that is used for storage. We have packaging material, packed products that we house there. There is no door or screen separating the 2 areas

We are trying to do a risk assessment where by we need to establish that having our storage in the same area as production is low risk as the risk of any hazards or contamination is low. We have metal racks and plastic pallets. We dont keep packed products in our factory for long either.

Please can anyone help us come up with a good Risk assessment matrix that will save us from having to move our storage out of the factory as we dont really have much viable option to do so.

We do have a small room outside the factory where we store our basic chemicals, (as we do only dry cleaning), cleaning and maintenance tools.

We are not well versed in BRC requirements/ implementation. Just been operating with HACCP.

Can someone please provide some guidance.

Thank you

im not sure what BRC  clause you are refering to.  I think you could just use something simple like attached.   Its not completed, but i think the risk and severity would be low.  If its dusty, id considert protecting any product or packaging with pallet covers, etc.  I dont think not having separtate storage wil be an issue with an auditor.
