Test kit to verify that all sanitizer residues are completely removed

Hello!

At the facility I am working now we will start some organic production line, auditors ask for a residue test kit that will be used to verify that all sanitizer residues are completely removed prior to organic handling.

Do you have any recommendations for an effective test kit?

Thank you!!

it depends on the sanitizer.   I just used test stips.   Find one with the lowest detection limit.  (low range or residual)  A example of one for chlorine based below.   verify with the certifier that they will accept it.

Hi,

Often your sanitation supplier has test kits for your specific chemicals.
Depending on the origin of your cleaning chemicals you could test for pH (rinsing water should be of normal pH) or quaternary ammonium compounds.

You could also ask for advice from the sanitation chemical manufacturer, they will be very familiar with testing residue of their product. The test kit you use depends on the type of sanitizer you're using.

As others have mentioned, it will depend on what sanitizers you're using.

When we had organic certified products our residue testing was mostly for quaternary ammonia with LaMotte low-range test strips.  The detergents were organic, but the sanitizers weren't.

After that we steam sanitized everything with a "portable" steam generator.
