Fair Price to charge for developing 2 HACCP plans

Hello fellow food safety warriors,

I have been contacted by a company looking for my guidance on developing several of their HACCP plans for a new plant they are starting. I have been asked to send them a quote for consultation to develop 2 HACCP plans for use within their USDA facility. The company is not yet GFSI certified.

My question is...what is a fair or standard price to develop a HACCP plan from the perspective of a consultant. I am a little lean on additional details at the moment.

Thanks in advance!

Not enough details.

Need a little more info on the complexity

I knew I would need to give more details, unfortunately I am limited on details of the processes other than it is a USDA process bringing in raw, uncooked sausage that will be cooked on-site, chilled, then packed out in second line that adds blanched/cooked vegetables and pre-made sauces into a 16 oz tray that is sealed either via roll-stock or an overwrap.

There is likely a MAP component to the packaging, but once, again, details are forthcoming.

Not a penny less than 5k  EACH

Given the info - 8000 each.

If you are starting from the began yes $ 5,000.00 to & 8,000.00 each is in the ball park. I worked for a meat plant and we start a SQF Program and got a auditor for 6 months to help us write the SQF Program.  He came to the plant 2 times and did everything else remote.  He charge $ 3,500.00 and this was in 2001.   We had 4 HACCP plans.

I'd have charged by the day because it depends on what engagement you get from the team.  You can't do it on your own.  But assume you'd be doing the write up and that's time consuming.
