Hi all,

We manufacture  PET cup, and a customer has requested  physical test on the cups such as drop test, durability in various temperature, fragility etc.  Has anyone done this before and would you mind to sharing your report for me as reference. Thanks in advance

Hi,

I’ve done similar testing during my internship, so I can share what we did back then. While I don’t remember the exact specifications for every test, here’s a brief overview of the physical tests we performed on the PET cups:

1. Impact Testing:
We used a simple setup to test the impact resistance of the PET cups. A measured weight was dropped onto the cup, and we used a PVC pipe to control the height. We’d place one end of the PVC pipe over the cup, then drop the weight from the other end to simulate impact. This helped us understand how much force the cup could handle without cracking or deforming.

2. Temperature Testing:
For temperature testing, we exposed the cups to known temperatures to see how long it took for them to deform. The goal was to assess their thermal stability and determine how they reacted under different temperature conditions.

While I can’t provide the exact measurements or specs we used (since this was a while ago), these are the kinds of tests we found useful in assessing the durability and strength of the PET cups.

I hope this helps! If you're considering doing similar testing, I’d suggest starting with these types of assessments and adjusting based on what you're specifically looking to evaluate.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need more suggestions!

Best,
