Dear IFSQN Community,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news of the passing of one of our long-time moderators, Charles C.. He joined the forum in 2004, just two years after its launch, and quickly became an integral part of our community. His dedication and expertise were invaluable, but beyond that, he was a kind, thoughtful, and supportive presence. He was more than just a moderator, he was a friend, and his contributions to our forum will always be remembered.

I personally have many fond memories of our conversations, where we would discuss everything from forum matters to the stories of our families. He was always genuinely interested in hearing about my twin boys, who are now 25, and I knew he cherished his own family deeply. His sudden absence last year left me concerned, and it is with great sadness that we now learn of his passing.

In honour of his memory, we are planning to create an annual award in his name. This award will be given to a forum member who exemplifies the same qualities that Charles C. did so well: a commitment to learning, a spirit of kindness, and a dedication to helping others. We believe this is a fitting tribute to the positive influence he had here.

Please join me in offering your condolences to his family during this difficult time.

If there's anything I can do, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Warm regards,
Simon

His absence has had me concerned for some time.

From his posts, you could tell that he was one of most technically sound / knowledgable professionals Ive known.  Always a great source of information.

Condolences to his family and friends.

I'm deeply sorry to hear about the passing of Charles. Although I didn't know him personally, he was a valued part of this community, and his absence will be felt. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Respect to Charles.C for his contribution to the forum, may his soul rest in peace. He will be greatly missed.

Thank you for this somber news.

Sincere condolences to all who mourn. His memory and expertise will live on this forum.

Thank you for informing everyone Simon, I think I speak for everyone when I say we all had a lot of respect and admiration for Charles.C. For years to come his great advice and guidance will keep steering people on the right track, he's left a great legacy on this forum. I can only imagine how positive an impact his expertise was on those who knew him personally.

Rest in power Charles, you will always be remembered and honored.

That sucks, Charles was always very helpful, professional, and a respected opinion.   Sorry for his family, and for you too Simon.  Sincerest condolences.

I regret I haven't been around here for a while, but Simon if you're able, please pass along to his family how well we regarded him, even those of us who only knew him through his forum posts.  I learned a lot from so many here and surprisingly have forgotten none of them, of whom Charles C. is chief. As Brothbro said, Charles will be teaching many for a long time to come.
