Hi can anyone tell me what type of cleaning and sanitation products they’re using in cannabis facilities? I come from food manufacturing QA and am used to using NSF approved products but I know for Cannabis it states that it has to follow Health Canada guidelines which are similar to food, but can’t find products that claim “Health Canada certified”

I'm not sure that applies to the disinfectant/ cleaners. If this is the correct reference, https://www.canada.c...4/document.html,  It applies to the manufacturer of the product (Cannabis) as part of their good manufacturing process (GMP) certification.

Biotab7 is NSF and EPA registered, USDA & Canada Organic compliant and can be used throughout operations by changing the dilution.

  • Cultivation and Seed Preparation (Pre-Planting Seed Rinse)
  • Water Line Bio-Slime Control
  • Leaf and Bud Fungus, Bacteria and Pest Control
  • Equipment & Container Rinse
  • Deodorize and Sanitize via HVAC
  • General Disinfection

PM me if you'd like more info.

Thanks, I can’t seem to find where to buy Biotab 7 in Canada. Also, I was given this link to follow

It is the GPP (Good Production Practices for Cannabis) soon to be starting with this new company and not sure if they have the GMP certification or if this is followed instead

What process are you referring to specifically?  Plants and propagation, resin manufacturing, edible production?

What province are you in?

We use food-safe sanitizers approved for food contact surfaces, check each product's SDS and label for compliance, and keep records of concentrations and contact times during cleaning.

I’ve seen some facilities using food-safe quaternary ammonia-based sanitizers for non-plant contact surfaces and switching to peroxide-based cleaners for anything closer to the grow room to avoid residue issues. We’re moving into processing CBN isolate bulk, so we had to double-check our cleaning agents didn’t leave anything that could mess with lab results or affect product purity. Always double-check compatibility with lab testing requirements.
