Temperature Data Loggers

We have used Thermoworks temperature probes to monitor our cooks for years. Over the last year or 2 we have been having many problems with them not working for various reasons (won't launch, software glitches, etc). We have contacted their tech support many many times and they just send us new probes for the ones under warranty and they stop working again very quicly. They are not able to fix our issue. We have lost a lot of cook (CCP!) data this way. Has anyone else had similar problems? We are looking at HOBOware right now but just curious if anyone has another suggestion for a different brand?

Thanks!

Angela

Have you had them calibrated?

Have you had them calibrated?

Oh yes, it's not a calibration issue. The probes are malfunctioning ie. won't launch, loses data, software gliches, you name it.

Could maybe your calibration company recommend a new system? PROVIDED that it isn't the same company as the manufacturer...

I use Elitech at my site, but we are cold storage only. You would have to check if these are suitable for your cooking temp.

I will also say that we went through software glitches too, but now that they are set up, they work great.

Our devices came preloaded with Chinese location/language, so adjusting to United States (English) was a bit difficult.

The Elitech iCold app has a lot of customization on reporting intervals, alarms, and can even send text/email when something goes wrong.

This is the new version of the model I'm using.

Which model of Thermoworks probes are you using? My current location uses 3 different ones, and some are prone to more issues than others.
