BRC Requirements for Export

Question - we are going to be exporting dry edible bean products to Mexico and wanted to make sure that we understand the BRC standard requirements to ensure that we have the correct paperwork and processes in place to satisfy BRC.   We have been BRC audited for 8 years but this is the first year for direct export.

I have looked in the standard and I'm trying to figure out where/how we make sure to comply.  Any help is much appreciated.

I will say it again

BRC is NOT who you should be worried about re: import/export

You're only concern should be ensuring you meet both export and import requirements of the country

Agree with Scampi.  This is not really a BRCGS issue as long as the food safety and traceability are maintained.

Hi LGreen,

Agree with Scampi.

There are a several relevant references to meeting legal requirements in the BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9. Search the standard for these terms rather than export:

in the country of sale

country of intended sale

intended country of sale

Also note your packaging needs to comply with legal requirements in the country of sale.

Kind regards,

Tony

Agreed, I have to admit I was taking these as given and you're right to not do so.  I think the question was more around the actual export paperwork itself?  Or that's how I interpreted it.
