Template for Approving Nitrogen Gas Suppliers for Flushing

Hello all,

For the qualification of a supplier of nitrogen that will be used for flushing ingredient bags, do you have a questionnaire/template that I could review?

This questionnaire should be simpler than that for an ingredient supplier, correct?

(This is following on my previous question about whether such a supplier must be approved and whether we need to test the nitrogen ourselves.)

We are certified with NSF GMP and SQF for food safety in the United States and manufacture dietary supplements under 21 CFR Part 111 regulations.

I don't have a questionnaire but I have adapted ingredient or packaging questionnaires before because some of the information is still relevant, particularly with packaging.  Things like:

Suitable for food contact

Tested residue limits of different contaminants or gasses and specification (don't forget oxygen if you're using the nitrogen to exclude oxygen specifically)

Accreditations / audits (you'd still expect them to be GFSI in my view)

Their site controls

Info on liability insurance etc.
