Clarifying FSSC 22000 V6 Clause 2.5.5 on Positive Testing Trends
Good day, can someone please explain tome the meaning of the below sentence from additional requirements, clause 2.5.5
When no positive testing results have been obtained over an extended period:
regards
I don't have access to the FSSC 22000. Google's AI says section 2.5.5 pertains to use of their logo. You'll have to type out more of the requirement if you want a more accurate interpretation of the phrase.
In BRC, that phrase is used. BRC wants the environment monitored for bacteria such as Listeria Monocytogenes by swabbing or using a sponge to take samples from equipment, the floor, the wall, etc. The BRC guidelines says that if you never get a positive result then they will assume you are not doing it correctly. They want you to reassess what you test, when you test and how you collect the sample.
Hi Inathiwam,
You must be referring to clause 2.5.7( d ii) of FSSC 22000 additional requirements.
As far as I'm concerned, the organization is required to take swabs for microbial analysis for all product contact surfaces at least annually, but if upon your analysis you get nonconforming results for a long period, you have to increase the frequency of doing microbial analysis, you can make it monthly, quarterly etc.
