Can a BRCGS Audit Be Conducted During the Night Shift?
Hi all,
What is the experience of people with BRCGS showing up during night shift? We have 24 hours shifts 5 days a week, our HoT insists that the auditor can come at night which I guess is possible but in my 12 years of experience working with BRCGS I have never seen that. I can understand that the auditor may want to stay over to see the shift changes but the logistics of managing the audit during night shift would be chaotic.
Has anybody experienced a nighttime audit?
We run 24/7 and the closest I have seen are with multi-day audits, they will occasionally want to come in early or stay late to observe sanitation or scheduled pre-operational inspections which mostly happen on the night shift.
Usually its only an hour or two deviation from the day shift schedule so they can check the box on the list that says they observed other shifts. The sustainability/ethical trade audits do this frequently too.
Agree with the above. The start of the audit has always been on days in my experience. But it can then go onto nights to observe something the auditor wants to see, for example, sanitation, finished standard of clean etc. I'd say that's more often the case with retailer audits though.
I complete the application form ahead of our BRCGS unannounced audit window every year. One question that is always asked is there any process which takes place outside the normal day shift; the form states that the auditor would need to come in off-shift is there were unless excluding from the scope.
Not an issue on the site I work in as the same processes take place 24 hours a day
