My Journey with Safe Food Handling Practices – From the Kitchen to Nationwide Training

As the proprietor of a food safety training program, I have personally witnessed the importance of safe food handling procedures for every home kitchen as well as for businesses.
 
I founded this business years ago after spotting a common deficiency: most people, including those in the food service industry, were unaware of how easily foodborne illness could occur. Simple errors, such as improper hand washing or improper food storage temperature, can have major repercussions.
 
Thousands of people and organizations have benefited from our training by obtaining their food handler certifications and learning the fundamentals of properly cleaning, separating, cooking, and chilling food.
 
Here are some important lessons I always impart:
 
The cornerstone of food safety is clean hands and surfaces.
 
Use separate cutting boards at all times because cross-contamination is more frequent than you may imagine!
 
Using a thermometer when cooking is revolutionary. Avoid guessing.
 
Don't forget to store leftovers safely and promptly.
