Hello:

XCan anyone suggest a good example of crisis management scenario in case of extended Power outage, fire breakout, severe weather affecting the building /operations, etc.

Thanks a lot!

Those are all good scenarios, pick one and run with it.  Game it from start to finish how your company would react, what steps you would take, acting hour by hour through the hypothetical scenario.

Last time I helped run one, we had all managers from a site sitting around the table and we decided a freak blizzard required us to shut down the facility.  Started with a mock notification that a blizzard was imminent, so the production manager said he would shut down operations to let the employees go home safely.  QA manager helped discuss steps they would take to log the WIP material and count raw ingredients that hadn't been used yet.  Warehouse manager detailed how they would check inbound/outbound appointments and notify the trucking companies to reschedule.  Then we added in that the blizzard caused a power failure.  Maintenance manager discussed how he would go about maintaining the temperature loggers remotely to tell QA whether we lost control of cooling.  Once we simulated the power was restored and blizzard had passed, QA and production managers gamed out what they would need to check before re-opening the facility, including scheduling the sanitation team to enter first prior to re-scheduling production employees to return.

It was actually a lot of fun.  We all sat together and typed up what people were saying about their procedures using a hypothetical timeline.

Thanks for the response; I just realized I should have worded it differently: Steps to follow when performing a mock crisis management; any idea what the flow would look like ?
