Patulin risk assessment

A voluntary recall of S. Martinelli & Co. apple juice has recently been issued in the United States due to the presence of patulin.

FDA has classified the recall in class II.

Patulin is a mycotoxin associated with apples and their derivatives.

The product was considered toxic because its ADD was higher than the PMTDI for patulin (0.4 micrograms per kg).

For more details, please refer to the risk assessment in the attached file.

Great, I just drank one of those bottles while in Florida.  :oops2: Here's hoping it was from a different batch.

Don't worry, in your case, the ADD is considering the consumption of one bottle a day and... you seem to be in good shape, so your weight will be 130 pounds?

The ADD is only 0.25, lower than the PMTDI of 0.4.

I think you can rest easy.

I wish I weighed 130lbs but Thanks for the low number!   :lol2:
