Should an Allergen Validation be performed when changing from Almonds to Cashews? I understand they are both tree-Nuts, but thought they carried different proteins?

Most jurisdictions require tree nut allergens to be labelled as separate risks, so yes switching from one to another is changing from one hazard to another and should trigger the cleaning procedures as different allergens.
