BRCGS - Training Need Identification and Competence Skill Level Matrix
Hello! I have a doubt. First we have induction training requirement which is given to all the new employees and workers and then we have trainings which are identified for the people based on their area of work or process or department they fall under. Then what is skill level matrix..is it necessary even if we are doing Training Need Identification and if yes who does that?? And based on what we assess??
It's great that you identify training needs, but a skill level matrix is the documentation that proves people are actually trained and competent (and when they were last assessed. You might be able to deliver auditors this proof in some other manner, but if you stick to a matrix template, there is no room for disagreements when you get audited.
You assess based on standardized requirements with tests and exams, etc.
Skill level meaning specific people who work in certain areas, like, metal detection training, LOTO training, etc. Everybody in the plant needs food safety training, but not those specific ones. Who trains them? Group leads/supervisors in those areas can train them.
