US Packaging EPR regulations
So, I've been getting some customers reach out regarding the State EPR laws. In my research, it looks like the onus of compliance for the state falls on the packaging manufacturers. However, I can see why customers want to be sure we are bottling product with compliant bottles.

Anyone else running into this, or any packaging manufacturers have a cliff notes version of major compliance requirements?
It's a mess. Bunch of different states calling for different things, it's creating a patchwork of problems from the supplier standpoint as each state seems to be utilizing different portals to upload the required documentation.
I'll say that my limited research into it puts the earnest of compliance on the last handler who causes the item to be sold in that state, i.e. retailers and storefronts unless a company is a direct-to-consumer type operation. And from our experience, the retailers we sell to are eagerly pushing their responsibility onto us to help them maintain compliance.

YES, exactly this. As of right now I think my plan forward is to do a bit more research, make a statement on company letterhead showing we are compliant to XYZ, and then provide that to customers. So far, they've been hitting me with extensive questionnaires and EXCEL sheets, and ain't nobody got time fo' dat!
