Hi,

Hazards like pesticide residues would be one of the mian concerns for farm haccp including several others.

However at this stage of the food chain the grower leads the initial food chain prior to processing of the raw materials to finished products.

Let us know more about the specifics of the farm that you are dealing with so that we can help you better.

What Franco had attached gives you an idea of how deep a HACCP Program is for a layer farm. AT the end of the day, you need to look at two main areas:
a. Bio Security Issues - Farm
b. Animal Healthcare Issues - Birds (Could cover therapeutic & sub-therapeutic drugs, feeds etc)
c. Others

In the light of bird flu problems currently a hot topic, it would be interesting to discuss more on this topic and Fadhill needs to highlight specifics for us to help him out. Its certainly not an easy subject.

Can we trace eggs based on "front-end" principles of one step back and one step forward? Is this necessary?

Here is the useful documents under "Guidelines for on farm food safety - Fresh Produce" whihc is developed by Australia.

However so many food safety (HACCP) concepts regarding the GAP at farm level, you can look into the EurepGAP standards, i.e. Fresh fruits and vegetables, Integrated Farm Assurance-IFA, Integrated Aquacultural Assurance - IAA. at http://www.eurep.org

Narongchai,

I have read the RMP and it is an excellent guide. Wonder if there is too much details for some one new to this?

Good contribution.

Cheers
