Franco,
I've used the task element approach for years now and, it has met and exceeded the ISO requirements for system and process auditing and, continues to do so.
The Task element approach was developed by Allan J Sayle and, became the foundation for the ASQ body of knowledge regarding the ASQ, CQA designation.
I have seen the process approach used and developed by Allan J, clearly integrated into the ISO standard, of course IOS won't admit to that at all.
If you wish to view the task element approach, I can post a visual for SDF perusal.
