Dear Vassilis,
Preliminary?, On-Going?, Both?, General?, Specific Standard? Specific Product?
Dear Charles ,
The project is about creating a detailed flow chart regarding overall supplier qualification process.
I think that i would need a General Preliminary + On going flow chart since that we are not obliged to report a specific example.
Thanks for your help anyway!!!
Vassilis
I do not have a straightforward supplier qualification flow chart.
But I can give you some guidelines that are generally used:
· Differentiate between products, critical – non critical
· What are previous experiences with the supplier
· Is it a second or first supplier
· Can you re-route logistics in case of strikes, natural disasters
· Need for a quality management system
· Need for a food safety management system
· Need for environmental awareness, Triple P
· Financial track record of the supplier
· Do you take 2% or 30% of the production capacity
· In case of production trouble can the goods be produced on an other site
· Is stock kept and were is it kept
· Price or value for money, paying terms
· Can the supplier serve you in your mother tongue
· Political stability in the region or country
· Experiences from other customers
· Is the supplier getting his raw materials from one or more sources
· Are there references, if so check them
· Response time to claims
You can give scores to these subjects and add them up, the higher the score the more the supplier fits your needs.
Or try fitting them into a flow chart, which is rather complicated.
Remember to share good fortune with your friends, Okido
If i put all these informations in a flow chart ,then it has to be 30 pages!!!( Im joking...)
Anyway, thanks for the ideas ( i would use them for the supplier evaluation document!!!)

Unfortunately, Okido’s parameters often reflect reality. It’s a question of how much detail you need.
I’ll have another go. If you don’t mind some “Black Boxes” here’s a flowchart used for I9k –

Note that specific details for The QA Questionnaire and the Method of Evaluating Performance are left out. Not sure if you needed these? I can put up a simple example of a non-specific case for the latter if you are interested. If you want to further refine yr requirements, no problem.

Updated. Guess it will soon be out-of-date although the basics don't change that much I think.
