Hi everybody,
I would like to learn the meaning of "e" sign on pack materials. Near the weight it is written 75ge.
The product is 75 g, but what does "e" mean? Is it written in any directives, standard?

We are producing chewing gum and our customer asks that.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Selminay,

the e-mark is placed on pre-packaged goods to indicate conformance to the EU Directives regulating the average system.

Dear Franco,

You seem to have great knowledge (trust) of the Irish systems  . Another great link, led me to this marvellous document –

There do seem to have been some additions to the directives referred in this item (expanded EU) but seemingly (amazingly) the basic requirements look to have remained unchanged since 1976 (?). -

Pity the prices are not similarly regulated.
